About me

Hi. I'm Dion.

If I had to explain myself in six words, those words would be "quiet, lazy, boring and inflammable." That's only four words. Oh well, I guess I should have thought of that before I started writing. Too late now.

Here, I drew you a picture of a potato:

You're welcome.

This is probably the least informative about page ever.

Creative Images

Images are everywhere on the internet, but they all have different purposes expressed in different ways, such as: their positions; size; meanings.
So, lets see what those purposes are!

A navigation bar is an image or series of images that enables simple website navigation.
Occasionally a navigation bar will be made up of rollover images; This is a type of image that changes when the mouse hovers over it or clicks on it.
A rollover image is a type of animation, and there are many different uses of animation. Animation can be seen as a flash game such as 'The World's Hardest Game', or as a movie like 'There She Is!
Whether it's a small image used for education or entertainment, or a whole website made up of flash animation, the use of animation is usually beneficial.... Usually...

Not all images are animated however. Web Headers/ Banners are possibly the most prominent images. Web Banners allow you to tell people what your website is about in a small space(Usually at the top of the page.) Banners, along with logos, (Such as the apple logo at the top of this post) are the main ways of identifying a website, company or brand.

Speaking of logos, did you know many logos have hidden messages within them. that further express what they are logos for. This can be seen in things like the Fedex Logo or Amazon's logo.
We see logos like this every day, and a hidden meaning stares us in the face without us knowing... a bit like those forgotten images, icons.
Icons are everywhere too, just look at a fancy Android or IOS device. On new phones or tablets, icons are used as shortcuts that take you straight to the app it represents! A great innovation from phone technology right? Well, computers have been doing this for years and years.
Recognize these?

They are old icons now, but icons nevertheless. Back in Windows XP days, icons were used for almost everything! (Although they weren't easy to edit without downloading extra programs) Do we ever stop and say "These icons are nice." when we see our computers? Well... apart from the theme makers and program designers, we don't really take notice of these little images.
Icons help provide easy navigation, possibly even better navigation than the navigation bar!

However the biggest of them all is the background image! The background image is usually a pattern or texture that fits the theme of where it is placed. For example, the background on this blog is a large purple texture.

Picture Elements

All of these images are made up of Pixels; Pixels are essentially small solid blocks of color that adjoin with other blocks of color. The color is created by a mix of the three Primary colors (Red, Green, Blue) and allow you to create possibly any color you would want.
These pixels can be easily noticed by zooming in on an image, such as in this image.

The amount of pixels in an image is determined by the image resolution.
